why the mob uses town cars...

This pic and title probably stand best as the complete post, but as a baptist preacher, I always have to say a little something. So, here's the explanation...
On our recent trip to Florida, the rental car agency did not have the type of car we reserved. So, we were allowed to choose anything except a 'Hummer.' Though we should have chosen a GM premium, due to the XM and Satellite navigation that comes standard, we choose the Lincoln Town Car. This is a very nice vehicle with a ridiculously large trunk. My nephew could have a nice play room back there.
The funniest thing about the trunk is not how big it is, but the symbols on the emergency trunk release. It is a glow in the dark 't-handle' that you pull to release yourself should you get stuffed inside...

note to self: if i ever escape a trunk...run run run!

never 'hot' + 1st from off main

I was watching a video on youtube tonight and I heard someone say "that's hot." Though I have no idea what she was actually calling 'hot,' I dont think it had anything to do with the actual temperature of the so, so she was using it in the way Paris Hilton does. I promise you that I will never use 'that's hot.' Not that there is anything wrong with it (besides when I hear it I think, that sounds dumb) but it's not me. I may head off into the 21st century with the use of outdated words like 'cool' and 'awesome, ' but I am not going to let the heiress positively shape my use of the English language.

In other news...
This is actually my first post from my new address, just off of main st here in the M-T-A (I will let Outkast influence my lingo a bit though). My connection feels really fast. At work we have the same speed, but it is shared across 5 people. At the old house we had 512 (whatever that means). But now we have 1.5 and it is not shared. So, whoo hoo for fast internet.
We still are working on this place and it is getting to feel a little like home. This weekend we are going to actually move into the living room with our living room furniture because the hardwood floors are finally about ready. We are also going to continue work in the kitchen, and someday, we may actually decide to move our stuff into there. Right now, we just buy stuff to cook that can be handled with paper plates, plastic utensils, and no pots. We do have one pan out so we warm lots in our ovens.
It is fun living in a house you own and it is fun knowing you don't ever have to unpack anything if you don't want to. I pay my mortgage and I can do what I want with it. We are not going to get too loaded down with finishing projects immediately, just in time as we have time.

Finally, we went to FLA this weekend and it was a good trip. More on that after I upload some pics. But for now, may the peace of Christ be with you, and keep your thoughts and prayers with those in the difficult places in the world like Iraq, Afghanistan and Blacksburg VA.
peace

softball guy

I dove back into softball culture last night. The church has joined forces with the Presbyterians in a local softball league. I said I would play, though I am lousy. Last night, the ball bounced well for me off the bat though. I reached base 5 time in 5 plate appearances and did not account for any outs from the plate or on the base paths. I also scored 4 runs, which actually is more about the guys batting behind me then it is about me. Surely this all will change.
In the field, not as stellar. I let 2 ground balls get past me. I fielded 1 or 2, cant remember.

I am much more sore today than I expected to be. There was sprinting, and standing, and more sprinting, and then more standing. I ran 5 miles yesterday afternoon, but this was WAY different. I have a little bit of new respect for softball guy. I still am not sure what is up with those shorts and pants, but their ability to sprint and stop, I have respect.

Thats all for now.
Hope you all are well.

re: metro

Authors note: I was supposed to post this on this blog, but accidentally put it on the off main blog. too many blogs.

there is much more to be said about the few things I will write to you today, but, yesterday I went to a woodworking store and spent $20+ on tools and sandpaper for the finishing of my floors. Then, I happened upon a Sally Beauty supply and spend almost $30 on personal care products.
As hard as I try to maintain an image in my mind of myself as an alt skateboard/snowboard type, I still like fu fu shave cream and hair products. I guess I am part metro-sexual and I cant change that.

I really do like my garage tools though..
