friday thoughts

Just a few quick thoughts while I wait for my coffee to finish brewing and I have to finally get to work for the day.

I usually do not pay attention to basketball that does not involve: ACC, Cameron Indoor, Blue Devils, TarHells, etc... But, this USA bball team that has been put together is coached by my favorite team's coach, K.
They won a scrimmage against Puerto Rico easily last night, but there are still doubts that this team will be able to win the World Championships this August. Aparrently I am the only one with no doubt. Here's what I think.
Coach K and Jerry Conlangelo have completely changed the culture of this team. They are helping to continue to develop young players like DWade and BronBron. They will be focused and ready to play, becuase that is what Coach K coached teams do. I have no doubt, but I guess that is becuase when it comes to Bball; In K I Trust.

NASCAR
Monday I got to drive my new ELEMENT on the road course at NASCAR's Watkins Glen. It was a blast comparable only to my excitement to getting to see RICKY BOBBY. I am not sure when I will get to see it, but at worst, my off day is Thursday or Nat. will be out of town next weekend. Not sure what her interest is yet.

Coffee is ready, I am off to work for a few hours today. Maybe I will catch some X-games this weekend. And I have to mow the grass.

back???

To say the least, the summer has been hellacious...

It all started the first week of June in prep for Vacation Bible School at church. Then we bought a car, went to ATL for four days, took kids bike riding, took one biker to the hospital after she tumbled into the creek unconscious after falling form the bike, my ride home locked keys in the car, went to NYC with youth, sent youth home from NYC b/c she was sick (part stomach, part homesick), came home from nyc as the only staff member in the office, visited hospitals everyday, prepared Wednesday night bible study, hosted youth at the house, got a haircut, preached a sermon, started Syriana 3 times: fell asleep each time and still have not seen it, got news that grandfather passed away, went to camp, drove back to raleigh to fly to funeral, went to funeral, spoke there, started to fly home: 3 hours late, 9 hours in Ohaire, back to raleigh 12 hours late, sleep at g-moneys, bfast at elmos, back to camp, one night at camp, bring youth home, pastor gives permission for a brief time of leave, go to amusement park...
then to take a break, we escape to Ithaca NY. you can see pics through Natalie flickr page; www.flickr.com/photos/natalieaho

Now, I am back, head is still spinning a little, and I have several pages worth of blogs to write. But I love my new car (42 days of ownership and 3800 miles already), I love my job, I have had the best summer of my working life and it has also been the most difficult.

I look forward to writing more, but, for now it is just good to get something on the page.

peace
